Cirurgia bariátrica e câncer gástrico: uma revisão sistemática

Resumo: : Introduction: Studies show that there is a correlation between waist circumference and visceral fat with a higher risk for cancer of the esophageal-gastric junction. The risk of gastric cancer after bariatric surgery has also not been established. The aim of this work is to conduct a systematic literature review to investigate the relation between gastric cancer and bariatric surgery Review: The research was carried out in the SciELO, MEDLINE and Google Scholar databases, using the PubMed search engine. The keywords were: "gastric cancer" AND "bariatric surgery", with selected publications from the last five years (since 2016), English or Portuguese and human trials. Discussion: A total of eight publications were selected, four of which were obtained from the MEDLINE database and four from Google Scholar. It was seen that few studies address the proposed topic, which indicates that the between gastric cancer and bariatric surgery is still little discussed and little is known about whether there is a correlation between them. Most studies suggest that post-bariatric surgery cancer is a rare condition. However, it is known that many cases are not reported or have been poorly studied, which may interfere with epidemiological data. Final considerations: There is a possibility of post-bariatric cancer, which is often not diagnosed due to nonspecific symptoms. There is a need for further studies on this relation, as the number of bariatric surgeries is increasing and at the same time incomplete data or underdiagnosis of cancer in these patients has been reported. Keywords: gastric cancer, bariatric surgery, obesity. Expandir Resumo Acessar Texto Completo

Atuação do Fisioterapeuta em Dermato-Funcional em Pacientes de Pós-Operatório de Cirurgia Bariátrica: Uma Revisão de Literatura

Resumo: Introduction: Obesity was defined as excessive accumulation of body fat, the result of an imbalance between food intake and energy expended. Metabolic Syndrome (MS) was considered the main cause of this disease. Bariatric surgery proved to be an effective tool in the control and treatment of obese individuals, who had failed conventional treatment. Objectives: to describe the performance of physiotherapy in accelerating the rehabilitation process, providing relief from pain, edema and patient functionality. Methodology: A literature review was carried out, through classic books and articles, in databases such as: Pubmed, Google Academic, Scielo. The books and articles used were produced in the last eleven years. Results: The role of physiotherapy in the postoperative period of bariatric surgery treats symptoms such as: edema. Lymphatic drainage provides tissue decongestion, as well as: provides faster healing. Discussion: Lymphatic drainage consisted of a massage modality, through precise, light, gentle, slow and rhythmic maneuvers, which follow the path of the superficial lymphatic system. Lymphatic drainage was effective in the treatment, as there is a reduction in edema in the postoperative period of surgery. Final considerations: The treatment of functional dermatological physiotherapy in patients undergoing bariatric surgery, in order to alleviate pain and edema in the immediate postoperative period, prevents and treats complications, in addition to providing a better quality of life Keywords: obesity, metabolic syndrome, bariatric surgery, dermato functional physiotherapy. Impacto da cirurgia bariátrica no metabolismo do cálcio

Resumo: Introduction: Due to the high prevalence of obesity that affects the whole world, bariatric surgery has been gaining strength and space in relation to the types of conventional treatments, mainly by individuals who have to lose weight, and who have not been successful with diet alone. However, these procedures cause a significant decrease in the absorption of some nutrients. Highlighting the serum calcium concentrations. Thus, a bibliographic research was carried out with the objective of reporting the main complications caused by calcium deficiency in individuals undergoing bariatric surgery. Review and discussion: The BIREME database was used to search for articles related to the theme of the past 10 years in Portuguese and English. At the end, ten articles were included, which demonstrated hypocalcemia in patients undergoing bariatric surgery, due to low calcium intake and absorption, leading to changes in parathyroid hormone and an increase in greater chances of developing bone fractures. Final remarks: Patients undergoing bariatric surgery show a decrease in calcium levels, so it is necessary to find out how to maintain these adequate levels.
