Morte e luto no hospital durante a COVID-19: Implicações na saúde mental dos profissionais da linha de frente

Resumo: BACKGROUND: The purpose of this work emerged during the pandemic context caused by COVID-19, as it influenced several events that affected the world's population, whether economically, socially or psychologically. Thus, there was a look at health professionals who were in the hospital and on the front line of the fight against the Coronavirus. OBJECTIVE: The present study aimed to understand how the high rate of deaths in hospitals related to the Coronavirus affected the mental health of these health professionals, to analyze its implications and how the confrontation occurred. METHODS: The research method was qualitative with descriptive and explanatory purposes, through data collection by the ex-post-facto procedure, four health professionals were interviewed online through the Google Meet platform, among them, a Nurse, a Physiotherapist, a Nursing Technician and a Psychologist. RESULTS: As a data collection instrument, a semi-structured interview was used, containing a script with eleven questions, seeking to evoke data from the perspective of health professionals on the definition of death and mourning, the coping mechanisms and the implications for the physical and mental health of these subjects. For data analysis, Content Analysis was used. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: According to the results achieved, the hypothesis was confirmed that the large number of deaths caused by COVID-19 had an impact on the lives of these individuals, in addition to having contributed to the psychological illness, as well as the coping mechanisms used in the face of death and the mourning in which they were exposed. Síndrome de Burnout: consequências e implicações na vida dos profissionais de saúde

Resumo: Introduction: Burnout Syndrome is a professional burnout syndrome that develops in response to chronic work stress. Review: This study addresses the theme in order to identify the main consequences of the disease in the lives of health professionals, especially among nurses. This is a review of the literature in articles published on the topic, which were selected from the databases of the Virtual Health Library, MEDLINE, SciELO and Google Scholar, between 2010 and 2020. Discussion: 19 references were selected for the study, seventeen scientific articles, a book and a publication from the Pan American Health Organization. Final considerations: The study found that there is a high incidence of the syndrome among health professionals, especially in nursing, with multiple stressful sources in the work environment of these professionals who predispose them to the syndrome, with emphasis on overtime working hours, low salary conditions and poor working conditions. The disease has negative consequences, causing problems at the individual, professional, family and social levels. Keywords: Burnout, professional burnout, health professionals. Ocorrência da tuberculose em profissionais da Saúde entre os anos 2014 e 2018 no Amapá

Resumo: Background: Studies indicate that health professionals are highly exposed to the risk of infection with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which causes tuberculosis. In the state of Amapá, there are still no studies specifically targeting tuberculosis in healthcare professionals. Objective: Survey on the occurrence of tuberculosis in health professionals in the state of Amapá between the years 2014 and 2018. Material and methods: It is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach in which secondary data obtained from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (SINAN) through the State Health Surveillance Superintendence (SVS) were used. The collected information was transferred to a spreadsheet in the Microsoft Excel 2010 application and then to the Tabwin program version 4.1.5, where the results were calculated and tabulated. Results and discussion: 28 cases of tuberculosis in health professionals were diagnosed between 2014 and 2018 in the state. The municipality of Macapá recorded the highest number of cases (85.7%), the predominant form was pulmonary (90%), female (68%) and brown race (68%) were more affected and the age group from 20 to 29 presented the highest number of cases. Conclusion: The importance of completeness in the data provided by SINAN and the importance of knowledge of the presence of tuberculosis in health professionals in the state are emphasized.
